Learning About forests

Curraghchase Forest Park

23rd May 2019

3rd and 4th class took part in the Learniing About Forests (LEAF) programme again this year. This is a fantastic fully funded programme run by the Environment Education Unit of An Taisce where children enjoy a day in the forest as well as a school based day. We hardly noticed the rain as we explored the forests flora and fauna. With our teachers for the day Niamh and Ray we thoroughly enjoyed our days learning outside the classroom. The pictures below speak for themselves. Curraghchase Forest Park, which is managed by Coillte, covers 313 hectares of mixed woodlands, park land and lakes, providing a rich habitat for a diverse range of animals and plants.
