Sports Day

19th June, 2017

Sports Day took place on Monday June 19th 2017. We began in the GAA field where pupils ran races such as 100 metres, 200 metres and relay races. A second track was used for fun races such as spud and spoon, three-legged race, wheelbarrow race and sack race. Hurling coaching was provided for each class by Limerick hurler Richie English. We also had tug of war, long puck and penalty competitions. The second part of our sports day took place in the school yard with children playing team games, unihoc, basketball shooting, tennis, golf, long jump, parachute activities as well as our ever popular obstacle course. In the hall we played giant jenga, snakes and ladders and connect four. We raised our Green Flag also today. It was a scorching hot day and so a visit from the ice-cream van was a very welcome sight. A great day was had by all.
