Tree Planting in Oola N.S.

31st March 2017

As we continue to work towards our Green Flag on the theme of biodiversity, the Junior “Day of Action” for biodiversity took place on Friday 31st March. The children for Junior infants to Second class got to plant some tree saplings in pots and these pots were placed in various locations around the school grounds. The saplings were kindly gifted to us from the Tree Council of Ireland. The children planted five different trees, a beech, silver birch, mountain Ash, oak and an alder. Fifteen trees were gifted to the school from the Tree Council, the school kept five and the remaining ten were given to Oola Tidy Town Committee.
